The Federal Trade Commission seeks
renewed OMB clearance for the information collection provisions
implementing the provisions of the Used Car Trade Regulation Rule,
16 CFR Part 455. The Used Car Rule requires dealers to display on
used cars offered for sale a window sticker called a “Buyers Guide”
containing warranty and other information. The Rule also requires
Spanish language versions of the Buyers Guide when dealers conduct
sales in Spanish.
There are no program changes
since the FTC’s prior clearance renewal in 2016. The slight
increase in annual burden hours from 2,275,699 to 2,368,993 is due
to changes in the number of used car dealers and the number of used
cars sold annually since the prior renewal. Additionally, there is
an upward adjustment in the annual labor costs stemming from
slightly higher estimated hourly rates.
