Introduction

INTRO_1B The purpose of this research study is to obtain feedback on different questions about your educational history. We are conducting this study to improve the questions in the educational history section in a large national survey called the Survey of Earned Doctorates, which is administered to about 50,000 people every year. This study is conducted by National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES) within the National Science Foundation (NSF) under OMB No. 3145-0174.

This screener survey will take about a minute to complete. Your participation is voluntary. The information you provide will contribute to valuable research at NCSES, one of the principal Federal statistical agencies. This study is administered by RTI International under contract. NCSES cannot guarantee the protection of survey responses and advises against the inclusion of sensitive personal information in any response.

If you qualify and take part in the study, you will receive $40 cash for completing the interviews. The interview will take about one hour to complete and be conducted at RTI International’s office at [LOCATION] or via videoconference between [DATE] and [DATE].
