The BLM uses the information to
determine whether private citizens, State and local governments,and
businesses are qualified to use, occupy, or develop the public
lands under certain conditions. The land uses that may be
authorized are: agricultural development, residential, recreation
concessions, business, industrial, and commercial.

The adjustments resulted in a
total increase (approximately $14,000) based on the BLM's 2020 Cost
Recovery Schedule which is currently $130 in fixed application
processing fees, and a decrease in processing fees from $80 to $0
for State and local governments. The increase in burden hours for
the Private Sector/Typical respondents from 1 to 4 hours resulted
in the 858 hours of increased burden.
