Minor Revisions to the Collection
SSA is making the following revisions:
Change #1: We are revising the Privacy Act Statement on this form.
Justification #1: SSA’s Office of the General Counsel is conducting a systematic review of SSA’s Privacy Act Statements on agency forms. As a result, SSA is updating the Privacy Act Statement on the form.
Change #2: We are revising the PRA statement on this form.
Justification #2: We are revising the PRA statement to reflect our current boilerplate language. The current language, which dates back to the last reprint of the form, is now outdated.
Change #3: We are updating the burden information for this collection.
Justification #3: Due to legislative changes we are implementing because of Section 102 of the Strengthening Protections for Social Security Benefits Act of 2018 (Pub.L. 115‑165), we are significantly reducing the burden for this form. Section 102 of Pub.L. 115-165 exempts custodial parents of minor children and disabled individuals, as well as spouses, from annual payee accountings. Due to the provisions of this law, we expect a drastic reduction in the number of respondents for the form SSA-624-F5 because the majority of the previous respondents fall into one of the exemption categories under this new law.
