Good [morning/afternoon] [Chief/or other title],
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting a survey with public safety personnel to gain a better understanding of the communication technology they currently use, need, and want in the future.
This survey is part of the NIST Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) effort. As part of this effort, we need feedback from Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and 911/Dispatch. Your input is vital in helping NIST and the PSCR community figure out how to best meet communication technology needs moving forward.
The survey has been approved by the NIST Human Subjects Protection Office. Participation is voluntary, and responses are confidential. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
We hope you will encourage everyone in your department to take the survey. Please share the link widely with other departments as well.
It is important to have your individual and collective voices heard as PSCR works to improve current and design future technology for public safety communication. We appreciate your assistance and your time, and look forward to your participation.
