The purpose of this project is to describe nonfatal occupational injuries and exposures incurred by law enforcement officers and treated in a sample of emergency departments (EDs). Data will be collected via telephone interviews. The results of this study will provide detailed insight into the incidence and characteristics of nonfatal occupational injuries and exposures among law enforcement officers. This information will increase awareness of the need to implement and improve prevention efforts and, consequently, reduce occupational injuries and illnesses among law enforcement officers.
