The NRC-regulated facilities and their
contractors who are authorized to access and possess classified
matter are required to provide information and maintain records to
ensure an adequate level of protection is provided to NRC
classified information and material.
The overall burden increased by
87.5 hours from 985 hours to 1,072.5 hours. The burden increase is
primarily due to an anticipated increase in the number of facility
clearance requests and terminations. There is also a minor increase
in recordkeeping burden due to more recordkeepers maintaining
Security Education Training Records. The increase in burden was
offset by a reduction of anticipated responses to the requirements
in 10 CFR 95.18. The anticipated new applicants are not expected to
have Foreign Ownership, Control or Influence issues that would
require a submission under that rule section. The hourly fee rates
decreased from $272/hr. to $263/hr. for professional effort in this
clearance.
