Title of Information Collection

In-person focus groups to solicit feedback on the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program tribal survey project.
Purpose
Identifying tribal preferences and values for natural and cultural resources in Glen and Grand Canyons is a high priority for the Glen
Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program (GCDAMP). There are substantial ongoing and prior studies exploring the preferences
and values recreationists and the general public hold for resources (for example, whitewater rafting and hydropower) in Glen and
Grand Canyons. However, there is almost a complete absence of relevant prior tribal socioeconomic studies exploring this
information. In-person focus groups would provide quantitative feedback to assist in the development of the proposed GCDAMP tribal
stakeholder surveys that identify perspectives on the condition and protection of natural and cultural resources in Glen and Grand
Canyons. The proposed surveys would provide information needed to inform decisions on management actions and policies related to
operation of Glen Canyon Dam.

Description of Respondents
The potential pool of respondents consists of private citizens, tribal members of the Hualapai Tribe, Navajo Nation, Pueblo of Zuni,
Hopi Tribe, and Southern Paiute Consortium. These groups have experience with the USGS and the GCDAMP.
