In support of the Unemployment
Insurance statutory and regulatory requirements, ETA 581 provides
quarterly data on State agencies' volume and performance in wage
processing, promptness of liable employer registration, timeliness
of filing contribution and wage reports, extent of tax delinquency,
and results of the field audit program.
We anticipate the states’
familiarity with the reporting instrument and the increased level
of automating reporting within state UI tax system have resulted in
a the reduction of time required to prepare and review the report.
Therefore, we feel these elements have attributed to a reduction in
response time and subsequently, the burden hours. The result is a
lower monetized burden to the states for this data collection
initiative.
