The information collection is needed to document satisfactory compliance with statutory requirements of the various integrated programs. P.L. 102-477 authorizes tribal governments to integrate federally funded programs into a single coordinated comprehensive service delivery plan. Funding agencies include the Department of the Interior, Department of Labor, and Department of Health and Human Services. The Bureau of Indian Affairs is statutorily requested to serve as the lead agency. Section 11 of this Act requires that Interior make available a single universal report format which shall be used by tribes.

When this collection was renewed in 2015, two versions of the report forms were submitted for approval. Version 1 of the report forms have been phased out, and Version 2 of the report forms are the only forms in use. Additionally, the BIA included burden numbers for the Job Placement and Training Program, which can be included in Tribal demonstration projects authorized by the Act. This collection was authorized under a previously approved collection, OMB 1076-0062, which was discontinued in order to more efficiently track the burden of collection requirements under the Act. Furthermore, the burden hours for the Statistical Report and Narrative Report have been greatly reduced since significantly more Tribes have access to electronic means when providing BIA with this information.
