DOJ's FBI is requesting PRA approval
of a revision to an existing collection that would request
information necessary to complete a FOIA request by the general
public.
US Code:
5 USC § 552 Name of Law: Public information; agency rules,
opinions, orders, records, and proceedings
With FOIA requesters
increasingly wishing to have their requests processed
electronically, RIDS needs this system as it continues to increase
the speed of opening requests, while providing greater
accountability and reducing the administrative time it takes to
process FOIA request. Due to a typo in the last renewal, this IC is
incorrectly displaying a decrease in burden when in reality it
should be an increase (from 400 to 2,745). The previous Annual Time
Burden (Hr) should have been 400 which would make the new burden of
2,745 an increase. Instead the number of responses (11,000) was
filled in its place and now makes the collection appear to have
decreased its burden. The system won't allow us to manually change
the decrease to an increase so I wanted to make the discrepancy
known.
