The regulations at 25 CFR 161 govern the grazing of livestock on the Navajo Partitioned Lands (NPL), Navajo-Hopi Former Joint Use Area, Additionally, these regulations conserve the range-lands of the Navajo Partitioned Lands to maximize future use of the land for grazing and other purposes. The regulations are a result of a number of court cases. This information collection allows BIA to receive the information necessary to determine whether an applicant to obtain, modify, or assign a grazing permit on NPL is eligible and complies with all applicable grazing permit requirements.
