Participation Inquiry Email to individuals who are past or future users of CDC Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS) training and professional development offerings, to be sent by CDC/DLS or the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL)
Subject: Opportunity to participate in CDC laboratory professional development feedback sessions
Calling all public health laboratory staff! The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS) wants to hear from you! CDC is conducting focus groups to gather feedback on their laboratory training and professional development offerings. They would like to gather perspectives from public health laboratory staff across a spectrum, including new laboratory hires, more seasoned bench-level professionals, and mid-level managers/supervisors. By sharing your thoughts and experiences, you can help CDC improve its portfolio of laboratory training and other professional development resources to better meet the needs of the laboratory workforce.
CDC is conducting the focus groups between April – June 2019 both virtually and in-person at [select meetings or conferences]. Each session will last an hour. While we sincerely hope you will join in this effort, your participation is voluntary. CDC will keep all participant information and comments confidential. The feedback from all focus groups will be used by our programs in aggregate only, and no individual names or other identifying information will be kept or linked to specific responses.
If you are interested in participating, or if you have any questions, please email Amy Hoying at AHoying@cdc.gov to receive a pre-focus group questionnaire. Please also forward this opportunity to others in your organization who might be interested in helping reimagine CDC’s laboratory training and professional development offerings!
Thank you,
Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) Representative OR CDC/DLS staff
