Only Alaska Natives may sell or re-sell any authentic Native article of handicraft or clothing that contains an inedible byproduct of a bird harvested legally during the Alaska Migratory Bird Subsistence hunt. Eligibility can be shown by this certification form or Silver Hand insignia.
Sales by consignment are allowed. Sales by consignment means that an Alaska Native sends or supplies an authentic Native article of handicraft or clothing to a person (Alaska Native or non-Alaska Native) who sells the item for the Alaska Native. The Alaska Native retains ownership of the item and will receive money for the item when it is sold. Each consigned item must be accompanied by either this certification form (signed by the artist) or Silver Hand insignia. This documentation must be retained with each item by all consignees and sellers while being offered for sale, and must be produced upon the request of a Law Enforcement Officer.
Each item sold must be accompanied by either a copy of this certification form or Silver Hand insignia (tags are adequate). This documentation must be permanently retained by the purchaser and must be produced upon request of a law enforcement officer.
All sales and transportation of sold items are restricted to within the United States. International transportation and sales, including to Canada and Mexico, are prohibited.
