Authorized by Title 13, U.S. Code, Section 182, the
Census Bureau surveys state and local governments
annually. The Census Bureau selects about 11,000
governments to participate in the annual survey.
Your response to this survey is important. This
information will provide insight about government
activity and allow your community leaders the
opportunity to make informed decisions. This
survey provides the only source of data on
government employment and payroll by job
function.
