Prior to the
commencement of Form BE-30, Ocean Freight Revenues and Foreign
Expenses of United States Carriers; and Form BE-37, U.S. Airline
Operators Foreign Revenues and Expenses distribution, the Bureau of
Economic Analysis shall provide on its Internet site prominent
links to a complete set of finalized survey forms, including
instructions and cover letters.

The quarterly survey is used to obtain
data for preparation of the transportation accounts of the U.S.
International Transaction Accounts. Data are obtained from U.S.
ocean carriers and airline operators.

The estimated change in the
burden hours for the BE-30 survey is an increase of 595 hours (from
429 to 1,024). There has been an overall increase, from 29 to 62,
in the estimated number of respondents meeting the (unchanged)
mandatory requirements for filing on a quarterly basis, providing
mandatory survey data. Additionally, there has been an overall
increase, from 3 to 8, in the estimated number of respondents that
would file exemption claims. The estimated change in the burden
hours for the BE-37 survey is an increase of 160 hours (from 308 to
468). There has been an overall increase, from 14 to 29, in the
estimated number of respondents meeting the (unchanged) mandatory
requirements for filing on a quarterly basis, providing mandatory
survey data. Additionally, there has been an overall decrease, from
9 to 1, in the estimated number of respondents that would file
exemption claims.
