INTERVIEW GUIDE FOR SCHOOL LEADERS (Comparison)
TARGETED RESPONDENT: These interview questions will target School Principals and Assistant Principals, in schools/school districts in the comparison group of SIG/Priority schools.
SCHOOL & TURNAROUND PLAN CONTEXT
Please describe the community and student population your school serves (e.g., demographic composition).?
Y1 principals version] Last year we talked about your school’s population [review stats]. Is there any additional information or context that you think is important for understanding your school and community?
Please describe the major components, goals, and objectives of your school’s turnaround plan. Also, state the change model (turnaround, transformation, school closure, restart) that your school follows. Has anything about your turnaround plan changed since last year?
Have there been any major changes at your school since the beginning of your turnaround plan and if so, can you summarize these in your school? How hHave these changes impacted your school’s ability to meet turnaround goals?
If need clarification: Changes could include turnover in school leadership, a change in school model, the introduction of new major programs or funding sources, changes in curriculum, etc.
Please describe any district or school-level structural or policy changes that have been you have made at your school to meet your turnaround goals. What other resources have been you devoted to addressing your turnaround plan?

Can you give me more detail on Wwhat strategies has your school has utilized to address your turnaround goals? Which strategies have involved changes or additional efforts by your school staff?
