FOCUS GROUP GUIDE

First, let’s talk about your involvement in the NORA Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Sector Council.

  1. What motivated you to join the Sector Council?


The next set of questions are about your perspective on the structure and processes of the Sector Council.

  1. What are the strengths of the Sector Council in general?

  2. What are the things that are not working? What are the challenges?

  3. How do you think the weaknesses and challenges you have identified can be overcome?

  4. In what ways is the current Sector Council membership composition effective and efficient?

  5. How do you think the annual meetings might be modified to facilitate the collaboration of all the members on a new project or initiative?

  6. In what ways are the current Working Groups effective and efficient?

  7. In your view, how do you see decisions being made within the structure of the Sector Council?

    1. In what ways could decision-making processes be improved?


The next set of questions are about the Leadership and Management.


  1. Thinking about the overall Sector Council, what do you think are the strengths of the leadership and management?

  2. What do you think are the weaknesses and challenges to leadership and management of the Sector Council?

  3. How do you think the leadership and management weaknesses and challenges you have identified can be overcome?
