This voluntary information collection
(Form EOIR-56) will allow a non-profit organization, pro bono
referral service, or private attorney to apply to be included on
the List of Pro Bono Legal Service Providers, that aliens in
immigration proceedings may contact for free legal services. EOIR
is obligated by statute to maintain and provide the list to any
alien placed in removal proceedings pursuant to section 240 of the
Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), or who seek asylum under INA
208.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
