Medical Examination for Immigrant or Refugee Applicant

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is requesting that the Department of State remove the DS-2053 and DS-3024 from our Medical Examination collection. The select group of DOS approved panel physicians who were using the DS-2053 and DS-3024 are no longer using these two forms.  They are instead using the DS-2054, DS-3025, DS-3026 and DS-3030 which correspond to our 2007 Technical Instructions.

Basically, those 2 forms were following the CDC’s technical Instructions from 1991 referencing TB exams. Those instructions are outdated and they are now only following the CDC’s 2007 Instructions on the remaining 4 approved forms.

There is no burden change associated with this request as the panel physicians were using either the 1991 version or the 2007 version during the medical exams.
