The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and Electronic Prescribing Incentive (eRx) Program Data Assessment, Accuracy and Improper Payments Identification support contract was created to identify and address problems with data handling, data accuracy, and improper payments from the PQRS and eRx Incentive programs. As part of this project, the Arch team will conduct the PQRS Data Validation Project Electronic Survey which will ask questions about data handling processes and systems used by Group Practices and Registries. The survey and other methodologies will be used to identify recipients of improper payments due to intentional fraud or unintentional error, data submission, processing, and reporting will be analyzed for any potential errors, inconsistencies, and gaps that are related to data handling, program requirements, and clinical quality measure specifications. The survey will inquire about data handling to determine data source errors, gaps, and inconsistencies as well as stakeholder perceptions of the challenges they faced participating in the program. To plan the survey, issue logs were reviewed from the prior reporting years, as well as knowledge of existing business processes associated with data handling to include procurement, translation, transmission, and submission. The survey contains six categories of questions: Corporate Information, Training, Data Handling, Quality Assurance, eRx and Feedback.
