The purpose of this project is to identify, develop, and test alternative methods for collecting self-report data on rape and sexual assault. The proposed work will enhance the Bureau of Justice Statistics' understanding of the discrepancies that arise from differing self-report methodologies used in measuring rape and sexual assault and will assist in determining the optimal design components for measuring these crimes. The results of this project will be used to redesign the methods used on the NCVS to collect data on rape and sexual assault. This nonsubstantive change is submitted to increase the sample and burden hours to accomodate a cell phone screener. See attached memo and cell phone screener documents.
