Firms participating in certain
negotiated Federal contracts and subcontracts over certain specific
thresholds must allow the government access to books, documents,
papers or other records and facilities involving these contracts.
Such recordkeeping is necessary to assure the Federal funds are
properly accounted for and that cost or pricing data are accurate,
complete and current.
The information collection
requirement in the FAR remains unchanged. The number of annual
responses per respondent has decreased from twenty to ten. However,
the estimates hours per response has increased, by 50 minutes, from
10 minutes, which was published in the information collection
notice in the Federal Register at 75 FR 10268, to 1 hour. These
adjustments reflect an overall increase in the information
collection.
