Preventing Child Maltreatment Through Policy Change
Project Information & Informed Consent Statement
ICF International is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on a study to understand how TANF and Child Welfare work together to assist families and how their policies affect rates of child maltreatment. The findings from this project may be used to inform other agencies throughout the country.
We are conducting this interview to learn more about your program and to get a composite picture of the Child Welfare and/or TANF program. You are the expert on your experience. This discussion is not meant to evaluate you; rather, it is meant to learn insights from your program. This interview is designed to be inclusive and to help make sure we capture your feedback on a variety of topics. If there are questions that you don’t know the answer to, that is fine; just let us know and we can skip those questions. There are no right or wrong answers.
Before we begin, I would like to review a few points and confirm if you provide your permission to participate.
Your participation is voluntary. You may choose not to answer some of the questions, or you may choose not to participate without penalty. You can choose to discontinue the interview at any time for any reason. Whether or not you take part in this project will not affect your job or your relationship with your colleagues.
All of the information that we collect from you is secure and the only people that will have access to this information are the researchers who are conducting this project.
Some information could be included in a published article, but your name will not be used in any reports about the interview. No quotes or comments you make will be linked with your name in any way.
With your permission, we will be audio-taping the interview. Again, no quotes or comments you make will be linked with your name or practice in any way.
We expect this interview to about 60 minutes, and you will receive a $25 gift card to thank you for participating in this research project.
We will answer any questions you have about this interview before you take part.
If you have further questions about this interview or project, you may contact the project director, Cathy Lesesne, at (404) 321-3211 or catherine.lesesne@icfi.com.
