Section 165(i)(2) of the Dodd-Frank Act requires certain financial companies, including national banks and Federal savings associations, to conduct annual stress tests and requires the primary financial regulatory agency of those financial companies to issue regulations implementing the stress test requirements. The OCC issued an anuual stress test rule to meet this requirement in 2012. The OCC also issued related reporting templates for institutions with consolidated assets of over $50 billion in 2012. As requested by OMB, both the rule and the over $50 billion templates were cleared under the same control number (OMB Control No. 1557-0311). Currently, this control number is pending at OMB with a request to add templates for institutions with consolidated assets of $10-50 billion. Under this ICR, the OCC is requesting approval for changes to the over $50 billion templates. Because OMB Control No. 1557-0311 is currently pending at OMB with the request to add the $10-50 billion templates, the OCC is seeking a new control number for this ICR containing changes to the over $50 billion templates. This new collection will be consolidated with the remainder of OMB Control No. 1557-0311 as soon as possible so that all of the OCC's stress testing information collection requirements will be approved under a single control number.
