The proposed amendments in Release No. 33-9117 would require issuers to file machine-readable code detailing the "waterfall" (i.e., cash flow provisions) for all registered offerings of asset-backed securities. The increase in the burden associated with this new collection of information called "Waterfall Computer Program" is necessary in order to provide investors with more meaningful disclosure for purposes of their investment decision. The proposal would result in an increase of 10,055 burden hours and an increase in the cost burden of $7,756,800 for services of outside professionals and computer programmers.
