Well, this has become a fiasco! Fmcsa, who between each
an every one of them has no experience what so ever
operating a cmv is making rules and regulations in the
transportation industry, that's the first and foremost flaw
with this system. Second safety advocates also have no
experience either, but somehow they feel that their opinion
is justified. EOBR's are not the answer. Here's an
idea.....same existing rules for experienced drivers, but set
a new set of rules for new (rookie) drivers for the first 2
years with EOBR's to help the new driver adapt the the
lifestyle of driving a cmv and to learn the rules with the
EOBR as a teaching tool. You want safer roads? Then
implement a course to educate all non CDL holders how to
drive with an around CMV's. Nullify the rule that states cmv
operators are responsible for vehicle immediately
surrounding them. If the fmcsa really concentrated on
highway safety then they would be focused on all vehicles
and not just cmv's. An I thought you had to be intelligent to
be in that administration??? Seems to me that the
transportation industry is being targeted with more than just
professional ruling, more like personal preferences
