This rule applies to gas-fired furnaces at sources emitting less than 10 tons per year of any single hazardous air pollutant (HAP) or less than 25 tons per year of any combination of HAP. HAP are defined in Section 112(b) of the Clean Air Act. Sources affected by this rule must meet emission limits for PM and chromium compounds. Annual testing and reporting is required unless sources emit at least 75% below the chromium limit. If this is the case, sources may decrease their testing frequency to every 3 years. Electronic reporting is required by the rule.
