Constructed on or before August 30, 1999 (40 CFR part 60, subpart
BBBB) (Renewal)
Extension without change of a currently approved collection
These emission guidelines apply to
small municipal waste combustors (MWCs) constructed on or before
August 30, 1999, that combust greater than 35 tons per day (tpd)
but less than 250 tpd of municipal solid waste. The emission
guidelines regulate organics (dioxin/furans), metals (cadmium,
lead, mercury, and particulate matter), and acid gases (hydrogen
chloride, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides). The emission
guidelines require initial reports, semiannual reports, and annual
reports. Owners or operators also are required to maintain records
of the occurrence and duration of any startup, shutdown, or
malfunction in the operation of an affected facility or any period
during which the monitoring system is inoperative. Owners or
operators subject to these regulations are required to maintain
records of measurements and reports for at least five
years.
