There is an increase in burden of 119 hours. This is attributed to the receipt of approximately twice the number of applications (from 30 to 53) and awardees (from 9 to 17) from the previous reporting period. Since the previous reporting period, applicant eligibility was broadened to be more inclusive of other organizations which has led to an increase in applications. In addition, processes have been streamlined, and resources and tools have been made available to increase efficiencies for both applicants and the agency. Further increases have resulted from the availability of grants.gov for electronic submissions by applicants and wider distribution of program notices through electronic media.
