The purpose of the NIFA grant
application for research, education, and extension programs is to
provide applicants with the required forms, instructions, and
related information to be used when applying for competitive,
formula, and/or other grant programs under NIFA.

Due to an increase in the total
number of applications NIFA received there is an adjustment
increase of 1,320 responses and 2,376 burden hours. In this revised
submission, the following minor changes were made to the
Supplemental Information Form: 1) Question 6 was added to collect
the organizations CAGE (Commercial and Government Entity) code to
assist in the validation of the organizational identity.; and 2)
what now becomes question 7, the HHS account code (which is no
longer used) is replaced with the Automated Standard Application
for Payments (ASAP) information. These changes have no effect on
the per response time for this form. In addition the 1890
Cooperator form is being discontinued. This discontinuation results
in a program decrease of 170 responses and 141 burden hours.
