Over the past several years, the majority of pharmacy bills submitted to OWCP have been submitted electronically using one of the industry-wide standard formats for the electronic transmission of billing data through nationwide data clearinghouses devised by the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP). There has been a significant increase in the number of electronic submission. As a result there is a decrease in burden hours from 121,494 to 26,917 which is an adjustment decrease of 94,577 burden hours.
