What
is
the
Family
and
Early
Care
and
Education
Provider
Relationship
Study?
The
study,
also
called
the
Family-‐Provider
Relationship
Quality
Study
(FPRQ),
is
about
how
families
and
early
education
teachers
and
child
care
providers
work
together
to
teach
and
care
for
children
from
birth
to
5
years.
A
survey
is
being
developed
to
look
at
this
relationship
from
parents’
and
teachers’/child
care
providers’
points
of
view.
The
results
will
help
teachers,
child
care
providers,
and
policymakers
improve
children’s
care
and
education.

Who
conducts
the
Family
and
Early
Care
and
Education
Provider
Relationship
Study?
The
study
is
sponsored
by
the
Office
of
Head
Start
(OHS)
and
the
Office
of
Planning,
Research,
and
Evaluation
(OPRE).
Both
of
these
offices
are
in
the
Administration
for
Children
and
Families
(ACF)
of
the
U.S.
Department
of
Health
and
Human
Services
(HHS).
Westat
and
Child
Trends,
two
research
firms
in
the
Washington,
DC
area,
are
conducting
the
study.
Westat
is
collecting
the
data.
What
will
I
be
asked?
You
will
be
asked
to
fill
out
a
10-‐minute
survey
about
your
early
education
or
child
care
program.
Some
questions
on
the
survey
are
as
follows:
How
many
children
are
enrolled
in
your
program?
How
do
you
communicate
with
families
of
children
in
your
program?
Does
your
program
provide
opportunities
for
families
to
get
together?
To
thank
you
for
your
time,
we
will
give
you
a
check
for
$50
after
we
receive
your
completed
survey.
We
are
also
recruiting
teachers/child
care
providers
to
fill
out
a
survey
about
their
experiences
teaching
and
caring
for
children.
This
survey
will
take
about
10
minutes
to
complete
and,
to
thank
them
for
their
time,
we
will
send
each
participating
teacher/child
care
provider
a
check
for
$25
after
receiving
their
completed
survey.
We
will
ask
you
to
identify
teachers
and/or
child
care
providers
who
might
be
interested
in
completing
this
survey.
We
will
also
be
asking
parents
to
fill
out
a
survey
about
how
they
work
with
their
child’s
teacher/child
care
provider.
We
will
ask
you
to
help
us
by
displaying
study
brochures
and
flyers
around
your
early
education
or
child
care
program.

care
providers
or
the
parents
of
children
in

care
setting
see
my

Your
participation
in
this
survey
is
voluntary.
By
taking
part
in
this
study,
you
will
provide
important
information
that
is
not
available
anywhere
else.
This
information
will
help
teachers,
child
care
providers,
and
policymakers
improve
children’s
early
care
and
education.
Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 10 minutes per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and reviewing
the collection of information. An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number.The office of
