RECRUITMENT ADVERTISEMENT:
Evaluation of the Whiteness and Color Rendering of Different Correlated Color Temperatures of Lamps.
Sign up to participate in our study of the color properties of light sources for general illumination.
What is required to participate?
Normal visual acuity (good enough to get a driver’s license). Glasses or contact lenses are OK. Solely for the purpose of this research experiment, we will test you for visual acuity.
Normal color vision. Solely for the purpose of this research experiment, we will also test your color vision.
What will we be doing?
This research will take place at the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Gaithersburg campus (Room B307 of Building 220).
You will be asked to initially adapt to a reference light for 5 minutes.
Two nominally white overhead lights will then briefly be presented. You will judge whether A or B appears more natural.
This task will be repeated 20 times per experimental run.
Each experimental run takes approximately 40 minutes.
You’ll be asked to complete a total of 4 experimental runs which is about 3 hours spread over one or multiple days.
All the data will be recorded by a pseudo-randomly assigned subject number that will not be linked to any identifying or demographic information about you.
