Who must comply?

Applicants for appointment to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA).

What is this collection about?

This collection provides personal, academic, and extracurricular information about applicants to the USCGA. Applicants complete the online application and provide contact information for their instructors who complete the supplemental e-forms.

Eligibility and admissions requirements for applicants can be found online at www.uscga.edu and admissions.uscga.edu.

When must information be submitted to the Coast Guard?

Applicants for appointment to the USCGA must submit a complete package (online application and supplemental e-forms) no later than February 1st of their desired year of entry. Applicants may only apply for appointment to the USCGA once per calendar year.

How is the information submitted?

Applicants must complete an online application and supplemental
e-forms which are available at www.uscga.edu. Applicants must also submit an official high school transcript via U.S. mail to the USCGA.

What happens when complete information is received?

The USCGA Admissions Office reviews the information to determine eligibility for appointment as a Cadet to the USCGA.

The Coast Guard estimates that the average burden per response for this report varies per applicant - about 30 minutes for completion of the online application and up to 2 hours to complete all supplemental forms.
