The information requested on slaughter makes it possible to publish information on the supply of locally produced meat and provides a basis for planning orderly marketing.


The price information will be used to estimate prices received by producers which are equivalent to delivered slaughterhouse or delivered shippers’ dock for interisland sales.


Under Title 7 of the U.S. Code and CIPSEA (Public Law  107-347), facts about your operation are kept confidential and used only for statistical purposes in combination with similar reports from other producers. Response is voluntary.


Please complete and return this report by the 10th of the month in the envelope provided, which requires no stamp.

NOTE: The Department of Agriculture collects and publishes information on average prices received by farmers. The price at which actual transfer of ownership occurs varies among islands and within each island depending on the services performed. The purpose of this report is to provide Hawaii’s livestock industry with as meaningful a price as possible. The information you supply will be used to estimate prices which are equivalent to delivered slaughterhouse for sales on the island of origin and delivered shippers’ dock for interisland sales.


INSTRUCTIONS


Paid to producers (Purchase and/or consignment receipts): Report the net price paid to producers.


Feedlot cattle: Animals fattened on grain or other concentrates which produce a carcass expected to grade good or better.


Other cattle: Animals fattened primarily on grass and other roughage but may include some supplementary feeding of grain.
