JUSTIFICATION FOR A NO MATERIAL/NONSUBSTANTIVE CHANGE
The OTS published on May 4, 2010 (75 FR 23565) the Final Rule amending the Joint Agencies’ Final Rule published on January 29, 2009 (73 FR 5498). The OTS is amending its regulations at 12 CFR 535 titled “Prohibited Consumer Credit Practices” to avoid duplication and inconsistency with the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 and the rules of the Board of Governs of the Federal Reserve implementing that statue.
The OTS is deleting section 535.24(a) and the burden associated with this paperwork section (464 hours). OTS is requesting the continue approval for this collection with the current expiration date of 04/30/2012 (please see the Supporting Statement, number 12).
