Subject Line: NSF study of Early Career Doctorate recipients – Postdocs, Faculty, and Non-faculty needed

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is planning a national survey of recent doctorate recipients in all fields, including non-science fields. The study will provide NSF with information about the career paths and research opportunities for individuals who earned their Ph.D. or equivalent degree within the last 10 years including postdocs, faculty and non-faculty researchers.

RTI International*, a not-for-profit research organization in Research Triangle Park (RTP), will be conducting one-on-one interviews with postdocs, faculty and non-faculty researchers to help inform the study design. You are eligible to participate if you received a Ph.D. or other doctorate-level degree since 2001, regardless of your funding source or discipline.

The interview will take between 90-120 minutes after which time participants will receive a gift of $50 cash as a token of appreciation. Interviews will be held in July at RTI at 3040 Cornwallis Rd., Research Triangle Park which is about 12 miles east of Chapel Hill.

If you are interested in participating in this important NSF study, please call Brian Head at 919-485-5511 or email ecds@rti.org with the following information:

1) Your full name

2) Affiliation - institution and department

3) Whether you are a postdoc, faculty member, or non-faculty researcher

4) Year you received your Ph.D. or equivalent degree

6) A phone number where we can reach you to schedule the interview
