Under 21 USC 830, the Drug Enforcement
Administration requires persons handling listed chemicals and
tableting and encapsulating machines to report thefts, losses and
suspicious orders pertaining to these items. These reports provide
DEA with information regarding possible diversion to illicit drug
manufacture.
