The Asbestos-Containing Materials in
Schools Rule requires local education agencies to inspect school
buildings for asbestos building materials, develop and implement
asbestos management plans, and conduct response actions to reduce
or eliminate asbestos hazards. The Model Accreditation Plan sets
forth training requirements and accreditation procedures for use by
states and training providers, who offer the training required to
conduct the response actions.
