Income Security Act (ERISA) authorizes the Secretary of Labor to
prescribe alternative methods of compliance with the reporting and
disclosure requirements of Title I of ERISA for pension plans. The
Department's regulations at 29 C.F.R. § 2520.104-49 provide an
alternative method of disclosure for sponsors of certain types of
Simplified Employee Pensions that is easier to comply with than
otherwise required under ERISA.
