The U.S. Census Bureau requests a revision to the Civic Engagement Supplement to the Current Population Survey (CPS), which was conducted in November 2010. The Census Bureau received clearance by OMB for the 2008 Voting and Civic Engagement Supplement on October 14, 2008 (OMB#0607-0466, expires 10/31/2011). Now, we request clearance for additional burden hours in order to cognitively test questions for the 2011 data collection.

Estimate of Hours Burden


Cognitive testing will occur in February and March of 2011. Two rounds of 15 interviews will be conducted, with each interview taking approximately 60 minutes. The burden of this testing is 30 hours.
