This generic
clearance is approved under the following conditions: 1) CPSC shall
use the generic clearance to host contests, not to collect data
from the public to inform significant policy or resource allocation
decisions. 2) Before running a contest, CPSC shall submit a generic
IC in ROCIS with (a) screenshots of the contest (if available,
otherwise a list of the data elements that will be part of the
contest), and (b) an abbreviated supporting statement in the
template agreed to by OMB and CPSC (included as a Supplementary
Document in the ROCIS record). 3) If CPSC requires parental
consent, it will indicate that in the abbreviated supporting
statement and include the consent form as an IC along with the
contest. 4) OMB will respond with approval or questions within 10
working days. 5) CPSC may initiate the contest once OMB has
approved the generic IC.
