Dear Mr. Perraut:
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) number has issued the number 0503-0016 for the
Department of Agriculture’s “USDA/1994 Tribal Scholars Program.” We are requested to make
modifications utilizing the change worksheet mechanism. This program targets students at the Nation’s
thirty-two currently operating 1994 Land-Grant Institutions, also known as the 1994 Tribal Colleges and
Universities (TCUs), or the 1994 TCUs.
The changes are as follows:
1. Update the “Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights” to the “Office of Departmental
Management, Office of Advocacy and Outreach” throughout the document and in related published
materials for FY2-11 and;
2. Modify the description of the benefits of the Tribal Scholarship from “Transportation Stipend” to
“Stipend” on page 2 of the Tribal Scholars Application and for published materials beginning
FY2011.
These changes enable USDA to better ensure that Tribally-controlled colleges and universities and
American Indians and Alaska Native communities can participate equitably in its employment and other
programs.
