Registration of Mortgage Loan Originators

Subsequent to receiving approval for the information collection requirements contained in the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act) regulations, more accurate estimates of the number of respondents became available. The OCC previously estimated that 117,772 mortgage loan originators would be covered by the OCC’s portion of the interagency rule. The OCC now estimates that 271,000 mortgage loan originators will be covered. Therefore, this submission involves only an adjustment to a portion of the number of respondents. The remainder of the respondents, national banks, remains unchanged.
