Forms EIA-63A and EIA-63B collect data
on the manufacture, shipment, and importation of solar thermal
collectors and photovoltaic modules/cells. The data are used by the
private sector, the renewable energy industry, the DOE, and other
government agencies. Respondents are U.S. companies that
manufactured, shipped, and/or imported solar thermal collectors
and/or photovoltaic modules and cells; importers, U.S.
non-manufacturing offices of foreign companies that ship to the
U.S. and companies registered on a U.S. security exchange who ship
products to the U.S.. Form EIA-902 is designed to collect
information on the domestic geothermal heat pump industry. The
economics of geothermal heat pumps have improved in recent years
and the pumps more competitive with conventional heating, cooling,
and water heating systems. Data collected will be from U.S.
geothermal heat pump manufacturers. The data will be disseminated
for DOE, the heat pump industry, and the public.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
