Using Information Technology
1.) The number of respondents has decreased from 38 to 37. Therefore, the burden hour inventory would decrease from 1,520 to 1,184 based on the calculation: 37 respondents x 32 hrs. per respondent = 1,184. 2.) The Office of Migrant education (OME) implemented a new electronic reporting system that auto-calculates certain data for respondents, which is a task respondents previously calculated manually. OME estimates a total reduction of 10 burden hours, which reduces the burden hours from 40 hrs. to 30 hrs. due to this feature in the newly implemented electronic reporting system. 3.) OME would now require that grantees submit documentation to support the GPRA 1 (item A2b in the APR) indicator for the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). In this case, the supporting documentation would be a list (verified by the IHE’s Registrar) of students’ names, ID numbers, & a statement that these students were enrolled in the CAMP and completed their 1st year at the IHE during the reporting period. This requirement would then increase the burden hrs. from 30 hrs. to 32 hrs.
