World Wise Schools Conference - Online Registration Form
OMB Approval Number: 0420-0541
Supporting Statement
Section A: Justification
1. The Peace Corps’ Office of Public Engagement promotes the contributions that returned
Peace Corps Volunteers make in the United States after their service. The Office of
Public Engagement comprises Paul D. Coverdell World Wise Schools, the Fellows/USA
graduate fellowship program, Returned Volunteer Services and the Partnership Unit. The
Office of Public Engagement’s activities and publications support section 2 of the Peace
Corps Act, which states that one of the agency’s missions is to “promote a better
understanding of other peoples on the part of the American people.” 22 USC § 2501.
Coverdell World Wise Schools was established in 1989 in order to bring the crosscultural experience of Peace Corps Volunteers into the classrooms of the United States.
Within the purview of Coverdell World Wise Schools, an annual conference is hosted to
promote Coverdell World Wise Schools as a leader in global education by showcasing
educational materials and services to a wide range of K–12 and university educators; and
by fostering working relationships with governmental and nongovernmental
organizations that support international and cross-cultural education programs. The
online registration form will be made available on the Coverdell World Wise Schools
website annually, for three months prior to the conference, to allow attendees to register.
2. The Coverdell World Wise Schools Conference Online Registration Form is used to
collect basic information about the attendees. Information to be collected includes name;
phone number; email address; affiliation with a school, university, or agency; and
questions or additional information attendees may have. Respondents include educators,
and employees of governmental and nongovernmental organizations interested in
promoting global education in the classroom. The information is used for purposes of
maintaining contact with others who want to register for the annual Global Issues in the
Classroom conference. The information will be collected from the Coverdell World
Wise Schools website annually, for three months prior to the conference.
3. The information will be collected from an online form that will be made available on the
conference section of the Coverdell World Wise Schools website. The electronic
submission of information is sent to the Coverdell World Wise Schools email inbox,
wwsinfo@peacecorps.gov and the information saved onto a spreadsheet.
4. The Peace Corps has reviewed this registration form in order to identify and avoid
duplications. While there are Coverdell World Wise Schools’ forms that collect some
overlapping information, such as name, school affiliation, and contact information, each
form is specific to one program or event offered to educators by Coverdell World Wise
Schools and each form is distinctive in the additional information requested of the
voluntary teacher participant. Furthermore, the participants of each of the Coverdell
World Wise Schools programs are unique, in that the teachers participating in one

World Wise Schools Conference since a substantially different group of participants will
attend the conference each year. The information collected is unique in that it applies
only to the Global Issues in the Classroom conference and elicits data about conference
participants only.
5. The collection of information does not impact small businesses or other sma ll entities.

conference occurs once a year. Without the collected information, Coverdell World Wise
