The CN labeling program is administered by FNS with published regulations and guidelines. It is designed to aid schools in determining the contribution a commercial product makes toward the food based meal pattern.

There is a decrease of 99 respondents, (from 368 to 269) the average number of responses per respondent increased from 7.2 to 7.8. The total of annual responses also decreased from 2,649 to 2,098.2, a difference of 549.8 responses. Six and quarter hours were added for the record keeping function the total annual burden request has decrease which constitutes an adjustment total of 415 burden hours. These adjustments are primarily due to updates used to internally track label applications and the companies. This has allowed for a more accurate count and identification of companies that have gone out of business or are no longer producing CN labeled products.
