Introduction

Hello, my name is _______________ and I’m from (name of company). We are calling on behalf of RTI International, a non-profit research organization, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

We are not selling any product. We are calling to invite men in your area to join in interviews as part of a research study about HIV testing and prevention. Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to the CDC’s fight against HIV/AIDS.

If you are eligible and choose to participate in the interview, you will be receive $75 as a token of our appreciation for taking time to participate in this important study and for any direct costs you may incur as a result of your participation.

We would like to invite you to take part in an informal interview session that will last about 1 hour. You will not be asked to buy anything. “We will be audiotaping the interview and some project staff from CDC may be observing the interview. “If you need to wear glasses either for reading or watching TV, please bring them with you to the interview.”
